Kathleen Dawson, CIC Director - Property & Casualty Divisions

Kathleen Dawson entered the insurance business in 1974 bringing over three decades of professional knowledge and experience in property and casualty insurance to her position. Dawson’s multi-state experience includes working with large, complex accounts requiring extreme attention to detail and heavy service work. Prior to joining Orgill/Singer, she served as a marketing manager, responsible for the placement of commercial accounts with a wide variety of coverage needs for independent agencies as well as national brokerage firms. She has extensive experience placing coverage with admitted carriers as well as excess and surplus lines markets. She supervised the management and handled the servicing of a wide variety of accounts including some with multi-billion dollars property values, gas utilities, casino and resort properties, and heavy construction. She has managed placements of coverage with self-insured retentions (SIRs) of various sizes, retro plans, and other uniquely structured policies. Her background includes customer service, marketing and sales, quality assurance, and agency management.

Dawson has earned and maintains the Certified Insurance Counselor designation from the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research and is a current member. Licensed in Nevada since 1986, and in addition to her CIC designation, she earned her Certificate of General Insurance. Dawson is also associated with the Southern Nevada Claims Association.

Dawson grew up in Las Vegas but lived for a short time in both California and Arizona before returning to Southern Nevada. Dawson was a four-year volunteer for the Trauma Intervention Program of Southern Nevada (TIPS). In the past, she has volunteered for several youth organizations and served as a Girl Scout Leader and Boy Scout Pack Secretary. She is currently an advocate for the local chapter of the Scleroderma Foundation and the Project Elevate Program operated under Project Sunshine. She is also an active member of Soka Gakkai International.
